Gaze

Gaze is a personalized version of King David’s cry.

King David was a warrior and a poet, a ruler and a harpist! He was described as being a man after God’s own heart. He is the author of many of the Psalms. Surprisingly, King David also committed adultery, was guilty of an innocent man’s death, and some other stuff…a man of extreme success and extreme failure.  Yet, he recognized that God…was God.  This was made ever the more clear in contrast to his own life. His greatest desire was to continue to be close to God’s presence…

One thing have I asked of the Lord,

    that will I seek after:

that I may dwell in the house of the Lord

    all the days of my life,

to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord

    and to inquire in his temple.

For he will hide me in his shelter

    in the day of trouble;

he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;

    he will lift me high upon a rock. (Psalm 27:4-5)
