Our world, our culture, has lots of answers. Many of those are around our own will, our own way, our own desires, our own rights, our own money, our own independence. When Jesus came to live as a man and become the bridge to God (through 'salvation' (i.e. forgiveness for sin and reconciliation with God, our Maker), he gave us a whole bunch of new answers, inconsistent with the self-seeking ways of culture. All consistent with the fundamental truth that God loves us and cares about our lives.
