This song was inspired by the life and death of Stephen, the first person recorded in the Bible following the resurrection of Jesus, to lose his life for the sake of his beliefs. Stoned to death, he would be the first in the long line of Christian martyrs. This line extends to today with the persecuted and underground church. Stephen knew something, and his life was worth less to him than what he knew. What he had seen and heard was too real to him to deny. May his life inspire us to live for something, or someone, so much greater than ourselves. And let us set our faces to him... forever.
